The center-left Blue and White list is waiting to see how the pre-indictment hearing for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will develop, and biding its time until it is given the mandate to form a government.
Blue and White officials told Israel Hayom that the party had held a few meetings with the Likud, but that Netanyahu's party was putting up two obstacles – insisting on a bloc, not a party, and that Netanyahu be the first to serve as prime minister in any rotation agreement.

"So it's hard to continue the discussions," the officials said.
Senior Blue and White officials said they expected that when Blue and White had the mandate, the Likud would "break" in negotiations and eventually give into Blue and White's demands.
Just before Rosh Hashanah, Netanyahu and Blue and White leader Benny Gantz agreed to hold a meeting to see how the sides could be brought closer together for a unity government deal, but when the holiday was over, Blue and White canceled the meeting. Officials claimed the move had been designed to "weaken" Netanyahu.
