The woman filed a police complaint about gang rape, then admitted she had willingly had sexual relations with some of the group of Israelis. Only after she realized that they had filmed the encounter without her knowledge or consent did she file the false accusation of rape.
Some two months ago, a Cypriot court released the woman on 5,000 euros ($5,400) bail and an additional 15,000 euro ($16,400) bond. She was also ordered to surrender her passport to keep her from leaving the country. She was also required to check in with the police station in Nicosia three times a week.
