Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is also acting defense minister has ordered to reduce the amount of diesel fuel delivered to the Gaza Strip from Israel by half, citing the recent security escalation in the south.
The order took effect on Monday morning and will remain in place until further notice, the Prime Minister's Office said.

The move will likely also slash the electricity available to Gaza residents by half, as well. Gazans already have only about 12 hours of electricity a day.
On Monday morning, the Office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories issued a statement saying that "following recent rocket fire from the Gaza Strip at the State of Israel, PM Defense Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had ordered to downsize the transfer of fuel through the Kerem Shalom crossing to the power station in Gaza by half, effective this morning and until further notice."
