Three IDF soldiers were wounded overnight Wednesday when a Palestinian terrorist armed with grenades and a Kalashnikov rifle crossed the security fence in southern Gaza and opened fire on their patrol.
All of the wounded soldiers, members of the Golani infantry brigade, were evacuated to hospital for treatment; two with light wounds and the third, an officer, with moderate wounds.

The terrorist, who was wearing a Hamas military wing uniform, was killed in the exchange of gunfire with IDF troops, IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis said. He managed to throw at least one grenade at the soldiers, he added.
According to initial assessments of the incident, it is believed the suspect acted alone and without the knowledge of his organization.
The IDF said that one of its tanks shelled a Hamas military post in Gaza. Palestinian media outlets reported that IDF drones attacked several targets east of Khan Yunis early Thursday.
