President Reuven Rivlin was given honorary citizen status by the South Korean capital Seoul on Thursday as he prepared to conclude his five-day visit to the Asian country.
Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon conferred the honorary title during a special ceremony in the capital.
Later, Rivlin tweeted: "An honor and a pleasure to become an honorary citizen of wonderful, beautiful #Seoul. When I see the innovation in Seoul, I could be in @TelAviv . When I look at its streets, my heart returns to Jerusalem @Jlm_city and how the cities weave tradition and modernity together"
Rivlin began his tour of South Korea earlier this week. He has met with senior officials and business leaders and also toured the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea.
