Amazon's aircraft fleet expansion is proving a boon for Israel Aerospace Industries.
IAI, which also produces drones and satellites, has emerged since 2015 as the leader in converting Amazon's growing fleet of Boeing 767 aircraft from passenger to cargo use.
IAI workers, pictured above, have converted about 80% of Amazon's fleet of around 40 aircraft so far, according to the state-run company.

"We dismantle every part of the aircraft and rebuild it as a cargo aircraft," Yosef Melamed, general manager of IAI's Aviation Group said, noting that workers seal off windows, rebuild cockpits and install larger doors.
Amazon says it expects to have a fleet of 70 aircraft by 2021.
The global online retailer is preparing to launch its Hebrew-language Israeli site within weeks.
While Israeli retailers are hoping that the site will be up and running to allow shoppers to take advantage of Amazon's Prime Day, which falls in mid-July, a more realistic date for the Israeli site launch is in August, ahead of the start of the 2019-2020 school year and before the High Holidays.
In May, Amazon contacted Israeli suppliers on its platform to offer them to be among the first to sell locally to customers through its Fulfillment By Merchant sales method.
