Iran believes the US Middle East peace plan that is set to be presented at an international conference in Bahrain this week is "shameful" and "doomed to fail," a Tehran official said Monday.
"This conference and the sale of Palestine will lead nowhere," Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency.

Meanwhile, Iran's parliament speaker Ali Larijani said on Sunday that the US peace plan was "toying with a nation's dignity" and would lead to stronger resistance against Israel by Palestinian terrorist groups, Iranian state news agency IRNA reported.
US President Donald Trump has dubbed the plan the "deal of the century." As part of the plan, a US-led conference will be held in Bahrain on Tuesday, and will present proposals for major investments in the Palestinian economy.
"Trump wants to make a deal on the fate of the Palestinian people. While toying with a nation's dignity is scandalous, this will strengthen resistance movements as Palestinians realize that they can only succeed through resistance," Larijani said.
