Details about the implementation of new understandings aimed at easing the blockade on the Gaza Strip were reported Monday by Hamas spokesman Hazim Qasim on a website identified with the organization.
Qasim issued a press release in which he explained that the understandings between Israel and Hamas would include aid for impoverished families and support in the form of supplies of electricity and water, as well as the provision of temporary employment for residents of Gaza. Qasim also said that Israel would open the border crossings to allow goods into the Gaza Strip.

According to the spokesman, in recent days mediators had presented the package of easements to the various armed factions in Gaza. Qasim referred to bundle as "breaking the siege."
Hamas emphasized that it would make sure that Israel was implementing its part of the understandings and characterized the bundle of benefits as a major achievement of the "marches of return" it has organized on the Gaza border since March 2018.
