Two Israeli cheesemakers won awards at an international cheese contest in France's Loire Valley, Tuesday.
Hanoked Dairy, located in the northern community of Gilon, won gold at the 2019 Mondial du Fromage for its Leshem sheep milk cheese and silver for its Beit Hakerem goat milk cheese.
Situated in Moshav Herut in the Sharon area, Hanan Hagaban ("Hanan the Cheesemaker") took bronze for its Herut sheep milk cheese with sage.
In addition to competing in the contest, Hanoked Dairy also took part in an international cheese exhibit that set a Guinness World Record for the largest cheese platter/board.
Fifteen countries were represented at the event.
