The Israeli Air Force attacked Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday after makeshift bombs flown into Israel exploded near several communities.
"Israel holds Hamas accountable for everything that takes place in the Gaza Strip and coming from it," the Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson's Unit said in a statement.
One of the devices flown from Gaza, which was attached to several balloons, landed in a nearby kibbutz and detonated. No injuries were reported.
Another such device exploded near a building in another border community, causing no damage or injuries. In two other instances, the devices detonated while being airborne.
Riots continued along the Gaza border fence on Tuesday, with some protesters using grenades and improvised explosive devices to target Israeli troops.
Meanwhile, Palestinian sources reported Tuesday that members of the Egyptian intelligence arrived in Gaza on Tuesday to help broker a truce with Israel.
The Egyptian delegation met with senior Hamas figures, including senior Hamas military leader Yahya Sinwar.
