Unemployment in 2018 dropped to an all-time low of 4.1% of the population, according to figures published Sunday by the Israeli Employment Service.
The number of claims for guaranteed minimal income from the government dipped by 11%, and over the past five years, the total number of people filing that claim has dropped by 39%.
Over the course of 2018, the monthly average of people who were fired or quit their jobs stood at 20,300 – compared to a monthly average of 19,600 in 2017.
In total, 402,730 people filed unemployment claims in 2018, a 4.4% drop compared to the previous year.
