A couple living in the southern Israeli city of Eilat were indicted Sunday for allegedly streaming intimate videos of their children, ages 14 and 11.
The two were accused of multiple counts of violating their children's privacy, sexual harassment, and violating laws prohibiting the production, distribution or possession of any image of child pornography.
The parents are believed to have signed a contract with a website that streams round-the-clock video footage filmed in real family homes.
According to the indictment, the parents originally installed cameras only in the common areas of their home, such as the living room and kitchen, but later agreed to place cameras in the family bathroom and in the bedrooms of their 11-year-old daughter and 14-year-old twin sons.
The website paid the parents a higher fee for installing the additional cameras, the indictment said.
A total of 11 cameras were set up all over the family's home, streaming video around the clock, including personal, intimate or embarrassing situations, sexual content and compromising images of minors, the prosecution said.
The decision to file an indictment against the parents stemmed from the extreme and prolonged violation of their children's privacy for economic gain, the prosecution said.
The operators of the website have also been indicted.
