Two Israelis who flew to Thailand to stab their business rival to death were sentenced to 25 years in prison each on Monday. Dolev Zuaretz and Eyal Bokel will serve their respective sentences in Thai prison.
Last January, Zuaretz and Bokel, from Netanya crime families, killed Maor Malul on the Thai island of Koh Samui.
Footage of the incident showed Malul riding a motorbike with his wife sitting on the passenger seat as a vehicle crashes into them from behind. Zuaretz and Bokel are then seen getting out of the car and stabbing the couple. Malul's wife was wounded in the attack.
The Israelis fled by speedboat to a nearby island and boarded a flight to Bangkok, where authorities arrested them immediately upon landing.
Allegedly, Zuaretz and Bokel killed Malul due to an ongoing feud between crime syndicates in the coastal Sharon area.
Shortly before his death in Koh Samui, Malul had been released from prison in Israel. Malul had been convicted and sentenced to 20 months for aggravated assault against a member of the Bokel family, who had shot and murdered his brother, Avi Malul.
