Three months after winning the Eurovision pop song competition, Israeli singer Netta Barzilai is conquering North America, with her song "Toy" in the No. 2 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs ranking.
Barzilai appears ahead of major pop performers such as Sia, Enrique Iglesias, U2, and is the first Israeli to be ranked so high on a Billboard list.
"The news caught me here, in the U.S., on a promo tour in New York. I just got off the flight and this was the first message I saw when I turned my phone on. It's a really exciting morning for me. … I'm thankful for everything that's happened," Barzilai said Saturday in response to the report.
"It's been an amazing year and everything I'm experiencing is insane," Barzilai said.
Since winning Eurovision, Barzilai has been busy promoting her song internationally. She has given concerts in several European nations and is giving a constant stream of TV and newspaper interviews. Her song was also a smash hit on Spotify, iTunes, and racked up over 1 million views on YouTube, making it the most-listened-to Eurovision song in history.
