Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit is expected to file charges against the prime minister's wife later this week over alleged financial irregularities in the management of the Prime Minister's Residence, his office confirmed over the weekend.
The Prime Minister's Residence affair is the collective term for a number of cases concerning the prime minister's official residence in Jerusalem.
One of the cases revolves around suspicion that Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, misused public funds by spending over 350,000 shekels (around $97,000) on meal deliveries, despite employing two state-funded full-time cooks.
Netanyahu has denied any wrongdoing.
Last week, the State Attorney's Office forwarded Netanyahu's lawyers new evidence that they say substantiate the allegations against her.
The evidence was provided by Nir Hefetz, a former Netanyahu family spokesman turned state's witness in a separate corruption case surrounding allegations against the prime minister.
