Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left hospital late Tuesday night following tests after suffering a high fever and a cough.
"Thank you, everyone, for your concern! I am on my way home. I'm Sure some rest and hot soup will put things right. Good night," Netanyahu said on social media after returning to the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem.
"The prime minister has completed a series of tests and will be released home tonight," a statement from Netanyahu's office said earlier.
Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital said Netanyahu was diagnosed as suffering from a minor viral infection to the upper respiratory tract. He received medication and was told to get additional rest.
Netanyahu, 68, fell ill in mid-March and canceled his public schedule for five consecutive days.
Netanyahu's personal physician, Dr. Zvi Berkowitz, said the prime minister did not fully recuperate from his previous episode of being under the weather. He said that Netanyahu probably did not get enough rest, leading to the recurrence of the symptoms.
Deputy Health Minister Yakov Litzman issued a statement saying he was "happy to hear Netanyahu was in good shape following his checkup and that he is feeling better. With God's help, I hope he has a speedy recovery and resumes his duties in short order. I wish you, my dear prime minister, a full recovery! Your health comes before anything else."
A Diplomatic-Security Cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday was to take place as planned. Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman will fill in for Netanyahu if he is unable to attend.
