Israel has inked a $500 million deal with Croatia to supply the European country advanced F-16 fighter jets, the Prime Minister's Office announced on Friday.
Details of the sale were finalized during a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland last week.
The deal involves the sale of some 30 aircraft that have been retired from the Israeli Air Force.
The sale is still subject to the terms of a tender in Croatia and also requires U.S. approval, as the jets were manufactured in the U.S.
"This development is another expression of the deep ties between the two countries," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.
Israel and Croatia have also agreed to expand cooperation in the fields of economy, security, water, agriculture, academia and tourism, the statement said.
