No children were injured.
The Hod Hasharon Municipality said in a statement that after last week's heavy rain, runoff was identified at one corner of the play yard at a nursery school, flowing toward an adjacent construction site. The city stressed that three different building inspectors had been called in, and all three had confirmed that there was no danger to the school building itself.
According to the city, the building has additional empty rooms that can serve as an alternate play space until work to repair the damaged yard is complete.
