A day after Navarone Jacobs, an Israeli who now lives in the U.S., accused Blue and White party chief Benny Gantz of exposing himself when they were teens, another such accusation was made against the former Israel Defense Forces chief.
His party said that this was part of an orchestrated smear campaign against him that appears to be criminal.
The new accusation comes from a man who attended the Kfar Hayarok boarding school in central Israel some 42 years ago. The man said that when his sister arrived, Gantz, who was also a student there, exposed himself before her.
The accuser said that apart from his sister, other family members witnessed what Gantz and his friends were doing.
"I remember this vividly. Gantz and his friends both took off their clothes in front of the girls and laughed while they did that," the man says. "This act of mischief truly scarred me. Gantz was a senior at the time, and he kept acting like this." The man said that it was important to reveal this despite the decades that have passed "because the public needs to know what happened."
Blue and White said that the new accusation originated with Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev's office. "We demand that a criminal investigation be launched without delay against her and her aides," the party said. "Those who are responsible for spreading false accusations that hurt victims of sexual harassment should pay a heavy criminal price."
Earlier on Thursday, Gantz sued Navarone, asking for 500,000 shekels ($138,000) in damages.
