Senior Fatah official Jibril Rajoub must apologize to Holocaust survivors for company Israel to Nazi Germany, U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Jason Greenblatt said Thursday.
In a tweet, Greenblatt responded to a recent statement by Rajoub comparing Palestinian cities to concentration camps.
Greenblatt quoted Rajoub saying, "Since the 1967 [war], we have been living in camps similar to Nazi camps" and said in his own tweet that "there is no comparison whatsoever."
"The shamefulness of this rhetoric is only eclipsed by the deafening silence resulting from the lack of condemnation from the PA and others.
"Those Jews who were slaughtered in the Nazi death camps and those who survived actual Nazi camps deserve an apology for this outrageous comment," Greenblatt tweeted.
